Overview

EGCS is registered with the Charities Commission and run by its Trustees.

Trustees are elected annually by the membership to oversee the running of the choir and ensure it is carrying out the purposes for which it is set up.

Job description

  • prepare for and attend meetings of Trustees – approximately twice per term
  • be ready to support EGCS between meetings or with other activities which may include:
    • Considering issues via email or discussing matters over the phone with other Trustees
    • Helping organise a fundraising event or developing a fundraising strategy
    • Acting as an ambassador for the charity
    • Sitting on a committee that looks in more detail at a specific aspect of choir’s activities such as concert organisation, fundraising or tours
  • be pro-active by suggesting or modifying matters to do with choir organisation e.g. innovative projects, more efficient organisation
