East Grinstead Choral Society welcomes people who share their love of singing
East Grinstead Choral Society’s new season starts on Thursday 5 September and chair Gill Olliver says new voices would be made very welcome.
“We will be singing some wonderful works by a wide range of composers including Rutter, Fauré, Vivaldi, Bach and Haydn,” said Gill.
“They’re an absolute joy to perform and we’d be delighted to share this pleasure with anyone who’d love to sing in a choir.
“There's no audition to worry about - all we ask for is enthusiasm and a love of singing. We offer up to three free ‘taster sessions’ to anyone interested.”
The choir rehearses every Thursday evening during term time from 7.30pm to 9.45pm at the Jubilee Community Centre, Charlwoods Road, East Grinstead.
“We are led by our very experienced Musical Director, Richard Jenkinson,” said Gill. “We work hard in rehearsals to get the most out of the music and after working so hard, we clearly deserve a reward and can usually be found in a local pub! New members are especially encouraged to join in.
“We also enjoy quiz nights, scenic country walks - nothing too strenuous! - and other social activities.”
