Jeremy Barham was organ scholar at the College of St Hild and St Bede, Durham University, where he read music. He has worked as accompanist to many choirs in London and the South East, and has been with East Grinstead Choral Society since 1989. He was a lecturer at Trinity College of Music, London (1997-2002), during which time he gained a PhD in music (focussing on the music of Gustav Mahler).
He now combines his freelance performing with a senior lectureship in the music department of the University of Surrey, where he teaches, among other things, courses in historical performance practice, film music and jazz.
